Neymar is back in the headlines for a possible return to European football.

The Brazilian forward, now 33, has been playing for Santos.

He went home to Brazil after his long spells in Spain and France. Neymar also played a season with Al-Hilal in Saudi Pro League.

However, injures were a major setback for Neymar’s career in recent season. Also, the pressure of playing at the highest level were taking a toll in his body.

So, joining Santos was supposed to be a break from the pressure. And, it worked. He played 15 games for Santos and scored 4 times and assisted 3 times.

Thus, one can say that his return to Brazil was a success.

With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, Neymar is thinking about returning to Europe. He knows staying in Brazil may not be enough.

Neymar wants to compete at the biggest stage once again. He wants to stay sharp. And most of all, he wants to win.

Transfer News Live has reported earlier that a Turkish club is showing interest in signing Neymar.

But, now, a French club has joined the race. Neymar knows the Ligue 1 as he spent 7 years with the biggest club of the French league and the current Champions League winners, PSG.

According to Fichajes, Olympique de Marseille is the team pushing hardest for Neymar’s signature.

Signing Neymar would be a statement as Roberto de Zerbi’s team is also close to signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Getting this Neymar to Marseille deal over the line will be tough. But Marseille believe they can make it happen.

They are ready to build around him. Neymar, for his part, sees this as more than a transfer.

It could be the last big chapter of his career and possibly the spark he needs before the World Cup.
