Nottingham Forest go into the 2025/26 season with hopes of repeating their heroics of the previous campaign.

In 2024/25, Forest finished in seventh place, just one point off the Champions League places.

They will play in Europe for the first time since their UEFA Cup campaign in 1995/96.

Due to Crystal Palace’s appeal, it is yet to be determined whether this will be in the UEFA Europa League or Conference League.

Forest have so far spent over £50 million on incomings.

Their most expensive signing has been Bologna winger Dan Ndoye, who joined for a fee of £34.5 million.

This signing came just a few weeks after gaining £55 million from the sale of winger Anthony Elanga, who left the club for Newcastle United.

They have earned over £100 million from player sales but have targeted one player that could improve a squad with more games to deal with this season.

Nottingham Forest target former Premier League left-back

According to reports, Forest are lining up a bid for Ipswich Town left-back Leif Davis.

He impressed in their promotion campaign in 2023/24, being named the club’s player of the season as they earned a spot back in the top flight of English football.

He failed to truly showcase his talent for a side that swiftly booked a return ticket to the Championship.

With a market value of £22.5 million on Transfermarkt, along with being in a lower division post-Premier League relegation, this is someone that could improve a full-back depth that already features Ola Aina and Nico Williams, who both impressed last season for the club.

With European football to contend with, the club would be massively boosted by the arrival of Davis to increase the size of the squad.

They will have their work cut out for them, with several Premier League clubs having seen bids rejected for the 25-year old.
