Ollie Watkins enjoyed another productive campaign for Aston Villa during the 2025-26 season.
The England striker scored 16 Premier League goals and provided three assists across 37 appearances for Unai Emery’s side.
Watkins also delivered in Europe, recording five goals and two assists across 15 Europa League matches.
During the campaign, he became Aston Villa’s all-time leading Premier League scorer by moving beyond Gabriel Agbonlahor.
He eventually reached 75 Premier League goals for Villa before representing England at the 2026 World Cup.
However, Watkins has now attracted significant transfer interest as Aston Villa prepare for the new Premier League campaign.
Villa could face an important decision because the 30-year-old remains one of their leading attacking options.
According to TEAMtalk, Ollie Watkins has agreed personal terms in principle with Al-Hilal over a potential move to Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Pro League club turned towards Watkins after failing to make progress with Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen.
Kane remains committed to Bayern Munich, while Osimhen does not currently favour leaving European football.
Those situations prompted Al-Hilal to intensify their pursuit of Watkins, who has shown interest in making the move.
Al-Hilal are now preparing to contact Aston Villa and begin negotiations over a transfer fee. However, the two clubs have not yet reached any agreement over the value of a potential deal.
Villa could consider selling Watkins this summer if Al-Hilal submit a sizeable offer for the England international.
The Saudi club have already agreed the basis of a potentially lucrative contract with Watkins.
Al-Hilal are also reshaping their attack after signing Crysencio Summerville from West Ham United this summer.
They also want another wide attacker and have monitored Manchester City’s Savinho and Chelsea winger Pedro Neto.
Watkins has now emerged as their leading realistic striker option after difficulties with their other preferred targets.
Formal talks with Aston Villa could therefore follow as Al-Hilal attempt to turn their personal agreement into a completed transfer.
