The 25/26 season sees Harry Kane set to enter his third campaign at Bayern Munich.
It has been a resounding success so far, with the striker scoring 84 goals in his first two seasons.
Whilst he also won the first trophy of his career, as Bayern won the 24/25 Bundesliga title.
Nevertheless, there has been some brief talk around his future in Bavaria.
However, those rumours can now be put to bed.
Sources close to the player have told Sky in Germany that the striker is not going anywhere.
Florian Plettenberg tweeted earlier: “Harry isn’t going anywhere — He will play for FC Bayern in the upcoming season.“
It did feel weird that there were any links at all – even if very quiet and very brief.
Bayern feel very happy with Kane, and Kane feels very happy with Bayern.
Although he has won the first trophy of his career, he won’t want to stop there.
He will want to win as much silverware as possible.
Despite some issues with the squad, there are few places better to do so than at Bayern.
At least not at the highest level anyway.
Perhaps in two or three years, he may return to the Premier League.
Maybe that will be a romantic homecoming at Spurs.
Realistically, Kane has no pace to lose – so he will think he can play at the highest level for a number of years yet.
If he re-joined the Premier League at say, 34, he may think that Alan Shearer’s record is still achievable.
That said, Erling Haaland may well render that ambition moot anyway.
