One of the more hot topics of the transfer window has been Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
The attacking midfielder had been linked with a move to Arsenal, but has more recently been linked with Spurs.
A deal looked to be virtually done at the end of the last week, but Eze ended up playing for Palace away to Chelsea.
For different reasons, he continued to be the main headline, having a free-kick controversially disallowed.
Since the game, talks have continued between the two clubs over a deal.
However, there has been a shock twist.
The Daily Mail are now reporting that Spurs are considering offering Richarlison as part of a deal for Eze.
They report that they would then make a move for Brentford’s Yoane Wissa.
It is no secret that the DR Congo forward wants a move away from West London.
However, that has been because he wants a move to Newcastle United.
However, Spurs manager Thomas Frank did work with Wissa for four seasons, so it makes sense from that point of view.
Nevertheless, this is still a very surprise story.
Richarlison scored two goals for Spurs at the weekend, including an incredible acrobatic goal for his second.
When fit, he has been fairly productive since his first season at the club. Though, ‘when fit’ is the operative phrase.
Nevertheless, a Brazilian international must hold quite a lot of value.
So it would be interesting to see what any Richarlison + cash offer would look like.
You’d assume much less than the figures being touted for a straightforward outright purchase.
Well, just when you thought you’d seen it all in this window.
