Over the last year, we have seen several young players at Tottenham Hotspur get a chance in the first team.

Whether due to injury or other opportunity, teenagers such as Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray played significant parts in the 24/25 season under Ange Postecoglou.

Another teenager to get minutes in the first team was academy graduate Mikey Moore, despite missing chunks of the season through illness.

In January, he scored his first goal in a 3-0 win over Elfsborg in the Europa League.

Despite being just 17, the very highly thought of youngster remained part of the Spurs squad all season, despite players older than him being sent on various loans.

At one point, some fans thought that he would also be part of the first team picture this season too, with another year of development under his belt.

However, reports are now suggesting otherwise, and the soon to be 18-year old is set to play the 25/26 season away from North London.

According to Football Insider, Spurs have “reluctantly agreed” to send the youngster on loan this season, with the player himself wanting to play week in week out.

In their report, they suggest that there is interest from Championship sides West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City.

Both clubs are managed by former Spurs coaches who will have worked with Moore in Ryan Mason and Chris Davies.

Having that sort of familiarity whilst making the step into men’s football may be exactly that the winger needs. First loans are often tough and lonely, so having someone he knows could be huge.

Furthermore, they state that clubs from the Eredivise are interested in Moore, so there is no doubt that he will not be short of suitors this summer.

Spurs have at best a very hit and miss rate when it comes to loanees, so let’s hope that this can be one of the better examples.
