Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign an attacker during the January window. The club want to add a wide player as they try to revive their season.

This season, the club expected to bounce back from last year’s disappointments in the Premier League. The Spurs finished 17th last season.

At the half way stage of the current season, they are 13th in the table under their new manager Thomas Frank. That is why the Danish boss is under pressure.

Tottenham’s current injury problems played a big role in their downfall. Frank has been without several key attackers.

Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison remain sidelined. Dominic Solanke has also missed time after limited appearances.

Spurs have also lost Mohammed Kudus to injury. Brennan Johnson was sold to Crystal Palace in a club record deal.

Now, Spurs have identified a forward playing in Ligue 1. The player has been monitored closely over recent months.

According to TEAMtalk, Spurs have followed Maghnes Akliouche closely throughout the season. The report claims the club are now pushing to complete a deal this month.

Tottenham Hotspur were present to watch Akliouche in action at the weekend. Club representatives attended Monaco’s 3–1 defeat to Lyon. The visit was part of ongoing scouting work.

The AS Monaco star was already on Tottenham’s radar during the summer. At that time, talks failed to progress, but the ircumstances have now changed.

Monaco’s current situation has played a role. The club sit ninth in Ligue 1 after 17 matches. They have lost six of their last seven league games.

Because of that downturn, Akliouche is more open to a move. Tottenham could step up their approach in the coming days.

The French winger has still impressed despite Monaco’s struggles. He has registered five goal contributions in 16 league appearances. He has also started 15 of those matches.

Monaco will demand more than £50 million. The 23-year-old is under contract until the summer of 2028, which puts the French club in a strong position.

For Tottenham Hotspur, a January move could prove decisive as they look to reset their season.
