After losing out on Eberechi Eze, Tottenham Hotspur are looking for an alternative. The Spurs were comfortably placed to sign the midfielder.
However, as soon as Kai Havertz got injured, Arsenal swooped in to sign Eze within hours. Now, Spurs are scrambling to find an ideal alternative to the English international.
Thomas Frank wanted to bring Yoane Wissa from Brentford, but he is not a midfielder. Also, Wissa has set his heart on St. James’ Park.
Also, there are talks about signing Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa. However, there is another midfielder who is getting linked to Tottenham.
Thomas Frank wants to find the right players for his system. That is why he is ready to wait to find the players who are ready to play for the Spurs.
Now, he is setting his sights on a midfielder from Serie A. Also, the same player has attracted interest from clubs like Real Madridand Manchester United.
According to Fichajes, the player Thomas Frank is eyeing as an alternative to Eberechi Eze is Nico Paz.
The Argentine international has been fantastic for Como. In 35 games in Serie A last season, he scored 6 goals and provided 9 assists.
Como will be asking for a significant fee for Nico Paz. Now, Tottenham need to make sure they act fast. The last thing they want is to miss out on Nico Paz just like they experienced with Eze.
The Spurs are yet to open talks, but they are showing interest. Also, they are looking at other targets such as Rogers.
Thomas Frank is adamant to have an attacking midfielder as he will miss James Maddison for a significant amount of time this season.
