There is no doubt that Tottenham Hotspur are in crisis. After sacking Thomas Frank, they appointed Igor Tudor. Like most clubs, the Spurs were expecting the new manager bounce.
Their first game under Tudor was the North London Derby. Something similar happened with Manchester United. The Red Devils also faced Manchester City in Michael Carrick’s first game.
And, United dominated City and won the game. So, the Spurs fans were expecting something similar in their derby. But the Gunners destroyed them and won the game by 4-1.
Now, they are in a relegation battle. There are also reports that if things don’t improve under Igor Tudor, they might replace him with another interim manager.
One thing is sure: the Spurs cannot afford to get relegated this season. Also, they are planning for the next summer transfer window.
Last summer, the Spurs failed to sign most players they wanted. Most of their targets picked their rivals. Now, they cannot afford another transfer window like that.
That is why they are already making plans, and they have set their sights on a former Manchester United star.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Dean Henderson as a replacement for Guglielmo Vicario.
Now, Vicario joined Tottenham from Empoli in 2023 and didn’t take long to establish himself as the number one goalkeeper for the North London side.
The Italian has made over 80 appearances for the Spurs. But now, they are looking to replace him with Henderson, who recently became Crystal Palace’s captain after Marc Guehi left.
Now, he has made 29 first-team appearances for Manchester United as well. His current contract with Palace is valid until 2028.
So, Crystal Palace will be looking at a figure around £25-£30 million to sell him. However, for the Spurs, everything will depend on whether they stay in the Premier League or not.
