Tottenham Hotspur have already invested heavily during the summer transfer window, but their business may not be over yet.
Roberto De Zerbi remains keen to strengthen his squad before the deadline as Spurs continue reshaping their attacking options.
The north London club are still searching for a reliable goalscorer. Richarlison’s future remains uncertain, while Dominic Solanke has not completely solved Tottenham’s problems in front of goal.
Another striker is now viewed as an important part of De Zerbi’s plans. The Italian also hinted that more arrivals could follow. Speaking after a pre-season friendly, De Zerbi said:
“The transfer market, it’s not finished for sure. We completed 60 per cent of our project… Now we have another bomba.”
He later explained that “bomba” simply means signing top players. Even so, his comments have increased excitement among supporters expecting another major addition before the window closes.
According to CaughtOffside, Tottenham Hotspur are pursuing Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen after making initial approaches worth between £50 million and £55 million,
Meanwhile, the Turkish champions are seeking closer to £65 million. Spurs have received sporting approval to begin formal negotiations.
They also believe personal terms would not become a major obstacle if discussions progress. However, there has been no official approach or direct contact with Galatasaray.
The Turkish club’s asking price reflects both Osimhen’s importance and his long-term contract in Istanbul. The Nigeria international enjoyed another outstanding campaign last season.
He scored 41 goals and registered 10 assists in 52 appearances for Galatasaray. Those performances explain why De Zerbi reportedly views him as a transformative signing.
Tottenham’s pursuit may also depend on Richarlison’s future. The Guardian reports that De Zerbi wants the Brazilian to stay.
However, the player has not made his intentions clear. With less than a year remaining on his contract, a departure could increase Spurs’ need for another striker.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have also been linked with Osimhen. Their interest could strengthen Galatasaray’s negotiating position if Tottenham decide to intensify their pursuit.
