Tottenham Hotspur continue to push forward with an ambitious summer rebuild under Roberto De Zerbi. Spurs narrowly avoided relegation last season and have already moved quickly in the transfer market.
Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi have arrived on free transfers. Meanwhile, the club continue to work on deals in several other positions.
Attack remains a major priority. Randal Kolo Muani has returned to his parent club following the end of his loan spell.
Richarlison could leave this summer. As a result, Tottenham are exploring options to strengthen their forward line.
According to CaughtOffside, Spurs are now planning a move for Liverpool attacker Cody Gakpo. The North London club have internally prepared plans for a package worth around €70M.
Yet, they have not submitted any formal offer. However, one source described the proposal as being “in the works”.
Newcastle United and Bayern Munich also continue to monitor the situation. Bayern have tracked Gakpo for some time.
The Bundesliga champions considered a move for him last summer before focusing on former Liverpool winger Luis Diaz instead.
The German side remain keen to add attacking depth. They have also shown interest in Marcus Rashford and Gabriel Martinelli.
For now, Gakpo has not made a final decision on his future. The Liverpool forward is not actively pushing to leave Anfield.
The 27-year-old is currently focused on the 2026 World Cup with the Netherlands. That could delay any major developments.
Even so, Tottenham are expected to make a formal approach in the coming weeks. Gakpo has scored 50 goals in 180 appearances for the club.
However, competition for places has often limited his role. Whether Liverpool are willing to accept a €70M proposal remains unclear. For now, Tottenham appear determined to test their resolve.
