Tottenham Hotspur have continued reshaping their squad after surviving a difficult Premier League campaign.
Roberto De Zerbi has already strengthened several areas of the team following his arrival in north London.
Spurs have invested heavily in midfield by signing Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes.
The club have also reinforced their defence with Jan Paul van Hecke, Andrew Robertson and Marcos Senesi, while Martin Dubravka has arrived to provide goalkeeping cover.
Despite those additions, Tottenham remain eager to strengthen their attack before the transfer window closes.
A new winger has become one of the club’s top priorities as De Zerbi continues building his squad.
According to Portuguese outlet Now (via Bola na Rede), Tottenham Hotspur have submitted an offer worth up to £47 million for Benfica winger Andreas Schjelderup.
The proposed package reportedly includes an initial fee of around £39 million and a further £8.7 million in add-ons.
However, Benfica have Schjelderup under contract until 2028 and inserted an £86 million release clause into his current deal.
The Norwegian enhanced his reputation during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Schjelderup scored once and provided three assists.
Schjelderup scored the opening goal against England in the quarter-finals before Norway eventually lost 2-1.
The 22-year-old also enjoyed an impressive season at Benfica. His performances have now attracted serious interest from Tottenham as De Zerbi searches for another attacking option.
Schjelderup previously rejected the chance to join Liverpool as a 16-year-old. He later explained that moving to Benfica offered a clearer route into first-team football.
Tottenham’s interest comes as the club continue an encouraging pre-season under De Zerbi.
Spurs remain unbeaten after victories over MK Dons and Auckland FC, while they also beat Chelsea following a penalty shootout win against Sydney FC.
The north London club will now conclude their preparations with friendlies against Getafe and Hoffenheim before opening the Premier League season against Brentford.
