Update given on Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Bundesliga star

Despite a 4-0 friendly win over Spurs, Bayern Munich’s attack looked incredibly thin.

They only had four senior attackers available for the game.

Including Kingsley Coman, who looks set to depart for the Saudi Pro League.

It has been clear for a while that Bayern need attacking reinforcements. At least one, quite possibly two.

One player they have been linked with a lot this summer is Nick Woltemade of VfB Stuttgart.

He is seen as a player that could play alongside Harry Kane, but also replace him in the long term.

Well, there has been an update on their interest.

Florian Pletternberg has reported that Bayern have today submitted a 60 million Euros bid with bonus payments and a sell on clause.

However, Stuttgart rejected the bid, even though the player’s camp believed it would be enough.

They want 75 million Euros from Bayern – something they are not willing to do.

So for now, any potential deal seems off the table.

To add further spice to these negotiations – the two clubs will be playing each other in the German Super Cup on Saturday.

We could see a world where Woltemade scores against Bayern, before joining them later in the window.

Despite being 6’6, the striker is a very clean and technical player, and has played as a number ten before.

With Jamal Musisla sidelined for quite a while, we could see him playing off of Kane – or even the other way round.

But again, at least for now, it seems that any deal is at a standstill. This probably won’t be the last of it.
