As we enter the final few days of the summer transfer window, we can expect clubs to be very busy.
It is perhaps inconvenient that two of the final three days of the window come at a weekend with a full slate of fixtures.
But we can still assume plenty of hard work will be going on behind the scenes.
One club that has had a busy transfer window have been La Liga side Villarreal.
They have snapped up the likes of Tajon Buchanan, Arnau Tenas, Renato Veiga and more.
The former of which scored a hat-trick in his second appearance, during a 5-0 win over Girona.
That win followed a 2-0 victory against Real Oviedo – making it seven goals scored and zero conceded in their opening two games.
However, Marcelino’s side are not done there, it would appear.
As per Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish side have sealed a deal to sign Georges Mikautadze from Ligue 1 side Lyon.
He reports that they will pay a 30 million Euros fee for the forward, with a medical set to take place on Sunday.
The 24-year old scored 11 goals and provided six assists in just 1445 Ligue 1 minutes last campaign.
Some will remember him from Euro 2024, where he starred in a very fun Georgia side.
In fact, his three goals were enough to be one of six players who won the golden boot award.
A versatile player, Mikautadze is capable of playing as a striker or off the left hand side of attack.
For the Georgia national team, he often plays as part of a very dynamic front two with PSG’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
A very exciting signing for Villarreal, and a big loss for Lyon. That’s him and Rayan Cherki now both gone.
