It has been a nightmare summer for Wolves so far.
They have lost Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Nelson Semedo – three of their very best players,
Then, they got hammered 4-0 at home to Manchester City on the opening day.
With Ait-Nouri playing for the visitors, and playing very well.
Since then, it has been reported that Jorgen Strand Larsen has agreed personal terms with Newcastle United.
However, there is at least some reason for optimism.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Wolves have agreed a deal with Girona to sign Ladislav Krejci.
He reports that the fee is close to a 35 million Euros total package, so a little under £30m.
The Czech international has played as a left back and centre back during his career.
Which in theory makes him the perfect fit to play on the left side of Wolves’ back three.
Albeit against a side like City, Wolves really struggled defensively on Saturday.
It is clear that a reinforcement or too is required in the backline, as well as other areas of the pitch.
Should the move work out for Krejci, and Yerson Mosquera gets back to his pre-ACL best, things could look much better.
A much needed signing for Vitor Pereira. Wolves fans will hope he isn’t the only player to come in between now and the end of the window.
