Manchester United duo close to agreeing new deals

If both players put pen to paper, then it will be a massive boost for Manchester United ahead of the next summer transfer window.

Breaking News - Manchester United

Manchester United have reached a breakthrough in their contract negotiations for two key players. The Red Devils will be active in the summer.

They will be looking to add at least two midfielders in the summer transfer window.

With Manuel Ugarte unhappy at the club and Casemiro announcing his departure, United’s priority will be signing midfielders.

But before heading into the summer, United would like to resolve the contract situation of some of their players whose contracts will expire at the end of this season.

One of those players whose contract will expire in June is Harry Maguire. According to The Athletic, Manchester United are close to reaching an agreement with Maguire.

They are offering a one-year extension with an option for a future year. Maguire signed for United in 2019. The Red Devils paid £80 million to Leicester City for him.

At the time, it was the world record fee paid to sign a defender. Now, apart from Harry Maguire, Manchester United are also close to agreeing a new deal with Kobbie Mainoo.

The England international is enjoying a resurgence under Michael Carrick. During Ruben Amorim’s tenure, he spent the majority of games on the bench.

But since Carrick took charge, the 20-year-old has become a part of United’s squad. The Red Devils are offering an extension until 2031.

So, if both players put pen to paper, then it will be a massive boost for Manchester United ahead of the next summer transfer window.
