England have officially revealed their new kits for the 2026 World Cup. As expected, the launch created plenty of noise.
Fans always react strongly when a new England shirt drops. This time felt no different. But there was one detail that stood out straight away.
The previous home kit sparked debate because of a design choice on the St George’s flag. That feature divided opinion before Euro 2024. Some fans liked the creativity; others did not.
This time, things look different. Nike has removed that controversial purple element completely. The new design goes back to something far more traditional.
The home kit keeps it simple. It features the classic white base, combined with a navy collar and matching sleeve trim.
The overall look feels clean and familiar. There is also a subtle pattern within the fabric on the authentic version. There is another small detail inside the shirt.
Printed on the inner collar are the words “Happy and Glorious,” a clear reference to the national anthem.
Fans had a mixed reaction on social media. Some praised the simplicity of the design. But others criticised Nike for their lack of creativity, even terming the kit as ‘boring’.
One fan even called the kit ‘rubbish’ on X, and the person said: ‘Everyone else kicking about with adidas originals, and you’ve got that rubbish.’
The away kit also grabbed attention. It comes in red with navy shorts, while the England badge sits centrally instead of on the side. The goalkeeper strip features a blue patterned design.
The promotional video featured several big names, including Marcus Rashford, Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Jordan Pickford.
This little place we call home.
