No further details about the alleged incident or the evidence have been released by the Metropolitan Police.

An England international has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm following an alleged incident outside a London nightclub.

The alleged incident took place on 6 December 2025 outside 100 Wardour Street in Soho.

Ivan Toney, who currently plays for Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli, was arrested after a disturbance outside the venue. He is now due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 24 September.

The England striker was involved in an altercation after a fan allegedly tried to grab him for a selfie.

Witnesses claimed the situation quickly escalated before police arrived and escorted Toney from the nightclub.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Ivan Toney was charged on 31 July with assault causing actual bodily harm.

The charge relates to the alleged assault outside the Wardour Street nightclub last December.

The report states that Toney had recently returned from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he represented England and started the third-place play-off victory over France.

He was expected to report back to Al-Ahli for pre-season training ahead of the new campaign. The London Ambulance Service also attended the incident.

Emergency crews assessed three people at the scene before taking one person to hospital. The other two individuals were discharged at the location.

The case will now proceed through the legal process, with Toney scheduled to answer the charge in court next month.

No further details about the alleged incident or the evidence have been released by the Metropolitan Police.

Neither Toney nor Al-Ahli had publicly commented on the charge. The legal proceedings are ongoing, and the allegations have yet to be tested in court.
