Arsenal handed massive injury boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

Mikel Arteta continues to deal with multiple fitness concerns.

Breaking News - Arsenal

Arsenal will face Bournemouth in the Premier League this weekend. The Gunners are nine points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table, having played a game extra.

Also, they have an advantage over Sporting CP in the Champions League quarter-final tie.

However, injuries have started to create problems for Arsenal, as several key players have missed recent matches.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta continues to deal with multiple fitness concerns. At the same time, Arsenal know what is at stake.

A win against Bournemouth could send them 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League. But ahead of that clash, there has been one major positive update.

Eberechi Eze has returned to training after missing three weeks. The midfielder had been sidelined with a calf injury.

However, his return now gives Arsenal a timely boost. He could feature in Saturday’s game at the Emirates.

Meanwhile, not all the news is positive. Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber both missed Thursday’s training session.

At the same time, Martin Odegaard, Piero Hincapie and Riccardo Calafiori were also absent.

Saka has not played since the Carabao Cup final on March 22. He also withdrew from England duty during the recent international break.

Meanwhile, Timber has been out with a groin injury. He picked it up during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Everton last month.

Furthermore, Hincapie suffered a hamstring issue while on international duty with Ecuador. He has missed the last two matches.

Calafiori started in Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Sporting in the Champions League. He played the full 90 minutes and showed no signs of injury.

However, Odegaard faced another setback. He came off with 20 minutes remaining after receiving treatment on the pitch.

Meanwhile, Eze’s return becomes even more important in this context. He joined Arsenal from Crystal Palace in a deal worth close to £68 million.

The club moved quickly to beat Tottenham Hotspur to his signature. This season, he has scored nine goals and provided six assists in 43 appearances.
