Gareth Southgate has stepped into a new role after his time with England came to an end. The former Three Lions boss is now enjoying life away from the pressure of international management.

However, the timing is interesting. The World Cup is fast approaching, and preparations are already underway.

This time, though, Southgate is not the man in charge. That responsibility now sits with Thomas Tuchel.

Meanwhile, Southgate has taken a step back from football management. He has been spending time away from the dugout. But his latest move has caught attention.

The 55-year-old appeared in a completely different setting. He was seen on Sky Sports coverage during The Masters.

Southgate worked as a special pundit for the broadcaster. He joined the team ahead of the final round at Augusta National.

Meanwhile, he shared his thoughts on English golfer Justin Rose. He discussed Rose’s chances of winning the Green Jacket.

Southgate compared the situation to his own experiences with England. He said:

“Rose is in a position our team are now. He’s been there and was so close last year.

“We got to a semi-final and we said to the guys if you can get to a semi-final you can get to a final, we got to two finals, they know then they can win.

“The reality is you now have to make that step, and it’s the biggest step of all.”

Meanwhile, Southgate also spoke about the environment at Augusta. He praised the organisation and overall experience.

He also compared it to other sporting events. He highlighted the respectful atmosphere at the venue.
