Alan Shearer has delivered a blunt verdict on Anthony Gordon’s future as transfer interest continues to grow ahead of the summer window.

The Newcastle United winger is attracting serious attention from Arsenal and Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, other Premier League clubs are also monitoring his situation closely.

The uncertainty comes at a difficult time for Newcastle. The club risk missing out on European football, which could force major decisions.

Arsenal are pushing to strengthen on the left wing. Reports suggest they are confident of landing Gordon for around £75 million.

Bayern Munich are also considering a move. However, their valuation currently falls short of Newcastle’s demands. The Magpies are believed to want at least £80 million.

Amid all this, Alan Shearer made his stance very clear. While speaking to The Sun, he said:

“I don’t know what Anthony Gordon’s feelings are but I always say, if someone doesn’t want to be here, then you have to get them out.

“I don’t know whether he wants that or not, I honestly don’t know, only he can answer that.”

The Newcastle legend also pointed to past examples. He referenced how the club handled similar situations before. He said:

“I said it with the Isak situation. If someone doesn’t want to be there, you’re better off getting someone out, and getting someone in who wants to be there who is 100 per cent committed.

“I’m not saying Gordon isn’t, I’m just saying only he can answer that, and if he doesn’t, then he has to be sold.”

Gordon has publicly insisted he is happy at the club. However, strong interest from top sides keeps the situation uncertain.

With the summer window approaching, Newcastle now face a crucial call on Anthony Gordon’s future.
