Manchester United suffer massive blow in pursuit of superstar signing

Manchester United have been planning to strengthen their attack for quite some time. The club wants to add more firepower as they aim to compete at the very top of the Premier League again.

There has been a clear focus on bringing in a proven goalscorer. United have lacked consistency in front of goal, and that has cost them in key moments over the past seasons.

They did signed Benjamin Sesko last summer and he is now proving his worth under Michael Carrick after scoring consistently. Still, the Red Devils want an experienced striker up front.

Because of that, they have kept a close eye on one of their dream targets. They have admired Harry Kane for years and nearly signed him in the past.

When he left Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, there was strong belief that he could end up at Old Trafford. However, he chose a different path and made a move that has worked perfectly for him.

Since then, he has taken his game to another level. He is now widely regarded as one of the best players in world football and continues to deliver at the highest level.

United still kept him on their shortlist. They hoped that his contract situation could open a door for a potential move in the near future, as Transfer News Live revealed earlier.

According to Football Insider, Manchester United are now unlikely to sign Harry Kane this summer as he remains happy at Bayern Munich and is preparing for new contract talks with the club.

The report states that Kane is keen to stay in Bavaria despite continued interest from United. The striker is approaching the final year of his current deal.

But Bayern are confident of extending his stay, which leaves United in a difficult position.

Although he is believed to want a return to English football at some stage, this summer does not look like the right moment.

Kane is also on course for a huge year. Bayern are targeting another treble, while England head into the World Cup as one of the favourites.
