Thomas Frank is finally preparing to return to football months after his disastrous spell at Tottenham Hotspur came to an end.
The Danish manager has stayed away from the spotlight since leaving North London earlier this year following Tottenham’s collapse towards the relegation zone.
Frank replaced Ange Postecoglou last summer but lasted only until February before the club dismissed him during a nightmare campaign.
Igor Tudor briefly took charge after his departure before Roberto De Zerbi eventually arrived.
Despite constant speculation surrounding his future, Frank has avoided public appearances and interviews since leaving Spurs.
Now, however, the former Brentford boss looks set to make a surprise comeback this summer. According to The Guardian, Thomas Frank will join BBC Sport as a pundit for the 2026 World Cup.
The role will mark his first major football involvement since his Tottenham exit. Interestingly, the move will also see Frank follow in the footsteps of his predecessor.
Former Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is also set to work during the tournament after agreeing to join ITV’s World Cup coverage team.
The BBC and ITV will again split broadcasting rights for the competition, although both channels will show the final.
Reports claim BBC Sport will base their coverage in Salford, while ITV will operate from New York.
Frank’s agent Allan Bak recently revealed the 51-year-old had spent recent months stepping away from football completely.
Meanwhile, Tottenham’s situation has only worsened since Frank’s departure.
The club remained locked in relegation trouble after he left, with results continuing to disappoint despite managerial changes.
Roberto De Zerbi will be hoping to keep the Spurs in the Premier League as he has finally got a two-point advantage over West Ham United.
Tottenham will take on Chelsea, and this game might decide their future. Also, West Ham will take on Newcastle United this Sunday.
