The next chapter of Manchester United’s long summer rebuild could involve one of their most expensive signings finally heading for the exit.

Once seen as the future of English football, this winger now finds himself on the sidelines at Old Trafford, searching for a fresh start after two difficult seasons.

Despite some brief moments of promise, his career in Manchester has never really taken off.

He went on loan in the second half of last season and showed glimpses of his old self, but even that revival was short-lived.

Another loan was agreed with a Premier League, and this time, there was a buy clause in place.

But the deal fell through when the London club backed out and instead paid a penalty fee.

That move left the player in limbo once again, with no clear path back into the Manchester United squad.

Ruben Amorim has not shown any signs of reintegrating him, which has opened the door to potential interest from other clubs across Europe.

His former club has stepped aside. But a new suitor has stepped up from Serie A.

According to Sky Sports Italy, Jadon Sancho has verbally agreed to join Napoli this summer.

The Serie A champions are ready to offer him a fresh start.

However, the move is far from complete. United are holding out for a fee close to £ 21 million and Napoli are currently struggling to meet that price.

The real problem is the winger’s salary, which sits at £300k per week, a figure well outside Napoli’s wage structure.

Talks will continue in the coming days as all parties look for a solution.

For now, the deal is alive, but unless compromises are made, Sancho’s escape route may remain out of reach.
