The summer window has barely begun, yet one name keeps returning to the headlines, Benjamin Sesko.
Arsenal fans are buzzing about the young striker, and the deal now feels like one of the summer’s biggest stories.
But while the rumours swirl and fans wait for clarity, someone finally stepped forward with answers.
Elvis Basanovic, Sesko’s agent, spoke to Fabrizio Romano for (via GIVEMESPORT) in what was his first public comment in months. And he had a lot to say.
Arsenal are in active talks to sign the 22-year-old, but no deal has been agreed, neither on price nor on personal terms. Despite that, the agent was calm and clear.
“Sesko is not competing with anyone,” Basanovic stated. “It’s him vs him every day. We have a clear plan for the future. Media talk does not change that.”
While many have compared Sesko to Viktor Gyokeres in terms of profile and value, the agent made a point to distance his client from that narrative.
In a strong message about values and professionalism, Basanovic took a thinly veiled dig at recent behaviour by other players pushing for moves.
“We will never force or blackmail RB Leipzig,” he said. “How you leave a club shows your values. If you have respect, you bring it with you to your next team.”
Although he did not name names, many believe this was aimed directly at Viktor Gyokeres, who has been linked with tension at Sporting over a possible transfer.
Basanovic made it clear that Leipzig remains a club they respect. He also left the timeline wide open.
“It could happen next week… or next year, or in three years,” he said.
For Arsenal, that means the door is open but far from unlocked.
One thing is certain: Benjamin Sesko is in no rush, and his next move will not be decided by pressure or noise. Only by what feels truly ‘special’.
