Tottenham Hotspur agree deal for second summer signing

Tottenham have now moved quickly to secure another experienced addition before the World Cup begins.

Transfer Update -Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur are wasting no time in the transfer market after narrowly avoiding relegation from the Premier League last season.

The North London club survived on the final day after securing a crucial victory against Everton. Now, a major rebuild has already started under Roberto De Zerbi ahead of the new campaign.

The Italian manager wants significant improvements across the squad to ensure Tottenham never find themselves in another relegation battle again.

Spurs have already been active behind the scenes in recent months. Andy Robertson is expected to arrive at the club after leaving Liverpool when his contract expires this summer.

Interestingly, an agreement for the Scotland international had initially collapsed earlier this year despite talks progressing well in January.

However, Tottenham have now moved quickly to secure another experienced addition before the World Cup begins.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement to sign Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi on a free transfer.

Senesi attracted interest from several clubs because of his contract situation. After months of negotiations, though, Tottenham appear to have finally won the race for his signature.

The 29-year-old is also expected to feature for Argentina at the World Cup later this summer. He will officially become a free agent at the end of June after his Bournemouth contract expires.

The Argentine defender is now expected to sign a four-year deal in the coming days, as Fabrizio Romano reported.

Now, Tottenham will hope Senesi can become the leader to the defence as Roberto De Zerbi begins reshaping the squad this summer.
