England’s preparations for the 2026 World Cup have already generated major debate after several high-profile players were left out of Thomas Tuchel’s squad.
The German manager made some huge decisions when selecting his final 26-man group for the tournament this summer.
Among the biggest omissions were Phil Foden and Trent Alexander-Arnold, while Harry Maguire publicly admitted his frustration after missing out on selection.
Luke Shaw, Levi Colwill, and Adam Wharton were also overlooked as Tuchel prioritised tactical balance and defensive structure inside the squad.
The England squad have already arrived in Florida ahead of the tournament and immediately started training in intense heat conditions.
Players trained in temperatures reaching 32C in Miami as preparations began for upcoming matches against Croatia, Ghana, and Panama.
England will also face New Zealand and Costa Rica in final warm-up matches before the World Cup officially begins.
Meanwhile, one of the major stars left out of the squad has now been spotted enjoying time away from football.
Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer was pictured relaxing in Ibiza following his exclusion from Tuchel’s World Cup squad.
The 24-year-old posed alongside beach club owner Wayne Lineker while sitting in front of a bottle of Grey Goose vodka during his holiday on the Spanish island.
Palmer appeared relaxed while wearing a gold watch and chain as he enjoyed a break after another demanding season.
The Chelsea attacker also visited Ibiza last summer after winning the Club World Cup before quickly returning for pre-season preparations.
Palmer decided to take time away after a difficult campaign affected by injuries and inconsistent form.
Although he still managed 10 Premier League goals last season, half of them came from penalties.
