Arsenal set to part ways with Martin Odegaard

Arsenal are wasting little time after ending their 22-year wait for a Premier League title.

Mikel Arteta guided the Gunners to a historic campaign and now wants to build a squad capable of staying at the top.

The Arsenal manager has already made it clear that he wants more attacking quality as the club chases further success next season. Meanwhile, the hierarchy is backing those ambitions.

The Gunners are also targeting players who can help them compete for the biggest prizes in Europe. As a result, several high-profile arrivals could be on the agenda.

Morgan Rogers remains a target along with Julian Alvarez and Bradley Barcola as Arsenal continue assessing options in the market. However, new signings may require departures first.

Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Christian Norgaard all face uncertain futures ahead of the new season. Now, another surprise name has emerged.

According to BBC journalist Sami Mokbel, speaking on the Latte Firm podcast, Arsenal could be prepared to part ways with captain Martin Odegaard if a suitable offer arrives this summer.

The development would represent a significant shift. Odegaard has been one of the most important figures of Arteta’s reign.

The Norwegian first joined Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid before completing a permanent move five years ago. Since then, he has become a central figure both on and off the pitch.

A fractured ankle suffered while on international duty in September 2024 triggered a series of fitness problems.

At the same time, Arsenal found another creative option. Eberechi Eze arrived last summer and gradually became an important player.

After a slow start, he played a major role during the run-in and shared playmaking responsibilities with Odegaard. Bayern Munich and PSG have both been linked with potential moves.

Arsenal signed Odegaard from Real Madrid for £30 million and would reportedly want to make a substantial profit if they decide to sell.
