Bayern Munich join Manchester United in race to sign Borussia Dortmund star

Bayern Munich’s approach and growing Premier League interest suggest a major transfer battle could be developing.

Manchester United are continuing to assess midfield targets as Michael Carrick prepares for the club’s return to the Champions League.

The Red Devils have explored several options in recent weeks as they look to add quality and depth in the centre of the pitch.

The club remain interested in players across both the Premier League and Europe. While midfield recruitment remains a priority, competition for top targets is becoming increasingly intense.

One player who has attracted significant attention is Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha.

The Germany international enjoyed an impressive campaign for Dortmund and has carried that form into the World Cup.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, with several elite clubs now monitoring his situation.

According to SPORT BILD, Bayern Munich recently contacted Nmecha’s representatives to express their interest in the midfielder.

The report states that Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool have also made enquiries about the 25-year-old, while Real Madrid continue to monitor his progress.

Nmecha signed a new contract with Dortmund until 2030 earlier this year. The agreement includes a release clause, although it will not become active until the summer of 2027.

Dortmund have no desire to sell so far. But the report claims the Bundesliga club would have to consider offers exceeding €100 million due to their financial model and long-term transfer strategy.

Now, Bayern Munich‘s approach and growing Premier League interest suggest a major transfer battle could be developing around one of Germany’s most sought-after midfielders.
