Manchester United continue to reshape their squad after securing a return to the Champions League under Michael Carrick.
The Red Devils have already moved quickly in the transfer market to secure Ederson’s signature. And now, they plan to remain active in the market and look for reinforcements across multiple positions.
The club have focused heavily on strengthening the midfield so far this summer. However, attacking additions also remain firmly on the agenda.
It is because Carrick is looking to build a squad capable of competing on several fronts next season. As a result, United continue to monitor emerging talent across Europe.
One player attracting significant interest is Porto winger William Gomes. According to AsRomaLive, Manchester United are among several clubs tracking the Brazilian ahead of a potential move.
The report states that Arsenal, Newcastle United and Atletico Madrid are also following the 20-year-old attacker.
Juventus and Roma have made enquiries as well, although neither Italian club has progressed beyond initial interest.
William Gomes enjoyed an impressive campaign and finished the season with 13 goals and two assists across all competitions. However, securing a deal will not be straightforward.
The report claims Porto have no intention of selling the winger and would not consider offers below €45 million.
The Brazilian also remains under contract until June 2029, placing the Portuguese club in a strong negotiating position.
His deal reportedly includes an €80 million release clause, although Porto’s current valuation stands considerably lower than that figure.
For Manchester United, the growing list of interested clubs could complicate any potential move.
