Liverpool are continuing their rebuild under Andoni Iraola ahead of the 2026-27 season. The Reds remain active in the transfer market as they look to strengthen several areas of the squad.
After Mohamed Salah’s departure, Liverpool are working to add wingers this summer. The club had previously targeted Yan Diomande and submitted multiple offers to RB Leipzig.
However, the move collapsed after the youngster decided he wanted to join Paris Saint-Germain instead.
That setback has forced Liverpool to reassess their options. Bradley Barcola remains one of the club’s leading targets.
Diomande’s expected move to Paris Saint-Germain could increase the chances of Barcola leaving the French champions, with the winger entering the final two years of his contract.
However, Liverpool are not relying on a single option. According to TEAMtalk, the Reds are also monitoring FC Koln winger Said El Mala.
The 19-year-old enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists in 36 appearances. The report adds that Liverpool face competition for his signature.
Newcastle United are also interested, while any move could become more complicated because his brother, Malek El Mala, reportedly wants the pair to join the same club.
Liverpool have also identified Hoffenheim winger Bazoumana Toure as another option. The 20-year-old Ivory Coast international contributed five goals and 12 assists in 32 appearances last season.
Like El Mala, Toure is comfortable playing on either wing and can also operate through the middle when required.
TEAMtalk claims Liverpool view him as a long-term addition who could strengthen the squad for years to come. The Reds are now exploring several different routes after missing out on Diomande.
Whether Liverpool eventually land Barcola or one of their alternative targets remains to be seen, but the club have already widened their search as preparations for the new season continue.
