Liverpool are preparing for a crucial summer after a disappointing 2025-26 campaign. The Reds parted ways with Arne Slot before appointing Andoni Iraola to oversee a major rebuild at Anfield.
The club has already completed several important signings. Jeremy Jacquet has strengthened the defence, while Victor Munoz has arrived to bolster the attack.
Liverpool also remain in talks for Ayyoub Bouaddi as Iraola continues reshaping his squad. However, the search for another winger has become increasingly difficult.
Mohamed Salah’s departure and Hugo Ekitike’s long-term injury have left Liverpool needing more attacking depth before the new season.
Liverpool had hoped to sign Yan Diomande, but the Ivorian has chosen Paris Saint-Germain instead. The Reds also believed Diomande’s move could open the door for Bradley Barcola to leave PSG.
However, the French champions have reportedly decided against selling the winger and have placed a valuation of around £115 million on him.
According to The Athletic, Liverpool have now drawn up a three-man shortlist of alternatives.
Belgian winger Matias Fernandez-Pardo is among the players under consideration after impressing for Lille last season. The forward contributed 13 goals, including eight strikes, during the campaign.
The report adds that Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh is also on Liverpool’s shortlist after registering 17 goal contributions across the last two Premier League seasons.
Meanwhile, FC Koln youngster Said El Mala has emerged as another option for the future. Liverpool are expected to continue assessing the market before the squad returns for pre-season in July.
