Nottingham Forest could be heading for another managerial change after a turbulent 2025/26 campaign. The club relied on four permanent managers to preserve their Premier League status.
The Reds eventually secured a 16th-place finish, but uncertainty has once again emerged ahead of the new season.
Forest appointed Vitor Pereira in February after spells under Nuno Espírito Santo, Ange Postecoglou and Sean Dyche failed to provide stability.
The Portuguese manager steadied the club during the closing months of the campaign and guided the team into the UEFA Europa League semi-finals for the first time since 1982.
His impact also extended to the Premier League, where Forest collected eight wins from his 20 matches in charge to secure comfortable survival.
Those performances initially appeared to strengthen Pereira’s position, with expectations growing that he would remain in charge for the upcoming season.
However, Fabrizio Romano has now reported that Nottingham Forest and Vitor Pereira could part ways before the new campaign begins.
According to the Italian journalist, there is movement behind the scenes at the City Ground, and Pereira could leave the club.
The latest development comes after reports that contract extension discussions have stalled despite Pereira’s strong finish to the season.
As things stand, there is growing uncertainty over whether he will continue leading Forest into the new campaign.
Pereira’s past year has delivered contrasting experiences. He started the season at Wolverhampton Wanderers but left the club in November 2025 after a difficult run without a league victory.
