Everton plan move for Tottenham Hotspur star

Once the World Cup ends, Everton could intensify their efforts to bring him to Goodison Park.

Everton have stepped up plans to strengthen their defence after Seamus Coleman’s departure left a major gap at right-back.

David Moyes wants an experienced Premier League option as he continues rebuilding his squad ahead of the new season.

The Toffees have already secured deals for Hayden Hackney, Tyrique George and Merlin Rohl this summer.

However, the club still wants further additions before the transfer window closes.

Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, continue reshaping their squad after a dramatic summer overhaul under Roberto De Zerbi.

Spurs have already spent heavily onMateus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali, and Jan Paul van Hecke as they prepare for a fresh start.

That spending could now force the North London club into player sales. According to The Athletic, Everton have made Tottenham defender Djed Spence a priority target this summer.

David Moyes reportedly views the England international as the ideal replacement for Coleman.

Everton also believes the promise of regular Premier League football could help convince the defender to move to Merseyside.

Spence enhanced his reputation during the World Cup after impressing for England on the international stage.

His performances have only increased interest in his services ahead of the new season. The 25-year-old signed a new long-term contract with Tottenham last year.

However, reports suggest Spurs would consider selling him for the right price as they look to balance their spending.

Roberto De Zerbi also cannot guarantee Spence a starting role next season, with Pedro Porro expected to remain first choice at right-back.

For now, Spence remains focused on his international commitments. Once the World Cup ends, Everton could intensify their efforts to bring him to Goodison Park.
