The revival of Manchester United under Michael Carrick has transformed expectations at Old Trafford.
The former midfielder guided the Red Devils to a third-place Premier League finish after replacing Ruben Amorim in January.
That turnaround secured Champions League football and accelerated plans for another major rebuild.
United have focused heavily on midfield recruitment this summer following Casemiro’s departure and Manuel Ugarte’s injury problems.
The club are close to completing deals for Andrey Santos and Karl Darlow. However, attention has also turned towards the future of several existing players within Carrick’s squad.
Few players have faced more uncertainty in recent years than Mason Mount. The midfielder has struggled with injuries since arriving from Chelsea in a £55 million deal in 2023.
Despite those setbacks, Mount showed encouraging signs during the second half of last season.
He made 23 Premier League appearances and gradually became a more trusted option under Carrick.
His tactical flexibility also allowed him to operate in several attacking roles across the campaign.
According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United have rejected a number of approaches for Mason Mount after Michael Carrick made it clear that he wants the midfielder to stay.
The report states that Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Fulham have all made enquiries. Inter Milan, Napoli and RB Leipzig have also explored the possibility of a move.
However, United have informed every interested club that Mason Mount is not available for transfer.
TEAMtalk adds that Carrick remains a huge admirer of the England international’s intelligence, work ethic and versatility.
Both the club and the player now want to see him rediscover the form that made him one of England’s leading midfielders before his move to Old Trafford.
