Julian Alvarez has become one of the biggest stories of the summer transfer window following his outstanding season for Atletico Madrid.
The Argentine enjoyed another impressive campaign in Europe and carried that form into the World Cup with his national side.
His extra-time winner against Switzerland helped Argentina reach the semi-finals and further strengthened his growing reputation.
That form has only increased interest in his situation in Madrid ahead of the new season.
Atletico have already rejected major interest in the forward and continue to insist on his enormous €500 million release clause.
Barcelona remain heavily interested and have already submitted an offer for the Argentine international.
Arsenal have also intensified their efforts after identifying him as Mikel Arteta’s priority attacking target this summer.
The Premier League champions have already strengthened several areas of the squad and continue to search for further additions.
However, according to SPORT, Julian Alvarez has no interest in returning to England and has rejected the possibility of listening to offers from Arsenal or any other Premier League club.
The report states that the decision is not specifically aimed at Arsenal. Instead, the striker simply does not want to play in England again and has already made that position clear.
The move could also help him reduce the number of realistic destinations available this summer.
By removing Premier League clubs from the equation, Alvarez could strengthen Barcelona’s chances of reaching an agreement with Atletico.
The Argentine is also aware that interest from England would improve Atletico’s negotiating position and could drive up the price further.
Barcelona remain interested in completing a deal but have no intention of entering an unlimited bidding war.
For now, the player’s preferred destination remains unchanged even if Atletico continue to resist the growing pressure surrounding his future.
