AC Milan remain active in the transfer market as Ruben Amorim continues rebuilding his squad ahead of the new season.
The Rossoneri have already completed deals for Goncalo Ramos and Mario Gila following a disappointing Serie A campaign.
However, further attacking reinforcements remain under consideration as Milan prepare for life back in the Europa League.
Meanwhile, uncertainty continues to surround the future of one Arsenal forward heading into the new campaign.
Gabriel Jesus has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium throughout the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian has entered the final year of his contract and speculation surrounding his future has continued to grow.
Juventus and Atletico Madrid have shown an interest in recent weeks. There has also been repeated discussion surrounding a future return to Palmeiras, the club where his professional career began.
However, reports from Brazil suggest that the striker’s immediate priority is remaining in Europe.
According to journalist Jorge Nicola, AC Milan have emerged as the strongest contenders to sign Gabriel Jesus this summer.
The report claims Arsenal have placed an asking price of £20m on the forward despite not actively looking to sell him.
Milan are now attempting to negotiate a fee below that valuation as they continue talks with the Gunners.
Nicola also claims that Juventus and Atletico Madrid have made enquiries but neither club has progressed towards a formal offer.
The update comes despite reports that Palmeiras would have the financial ability to match Arsenal’s valuation.
However, the Brazilian reportedly intends to remain in Europe for another two or three years before returning to South America. For now, Milan appear to be leading the race for the Arsenal forward.
Much could depend on whether the Italian club can convince Arsenal to lower their demands in the coming weeks.
