Arsenal and Manchester City will contest the traditional curtain-raiser ahead of the new Premier League campaign, when they face each other next month.
The two sides will meet in the Community Shield after securing the two biggest domestic honours during the 2025-26 season.
Arsenal earned their place after ending a 22-year wait to win the Premier League title under Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners finished four points clear of their nearest challengers and secured the championship with one game remaining.
Meanwhile, Manchester City qualified after lifting the FA Cup for the eighth time in their history.
City defeated Chelsea 1-0 in the final at Wembley Stadium on May 16 to secure their place against Arsenal.
However, the two clubs will not return to Wembley when they compete for the first piece of silverware of the new campaign.
Instead, the 2026 Community Shield will take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Sunday, August 16.
This change comes after alterations to the football calendar pushed the start of the 2026-27 Premier League season back by one week.
Consequently, the Community Shield was moved because pre-planned concerts made Wembley Stadium unavailable.
Canadian singer The Weeknd will perform five shows at Wembley between August 14 and August 19. It will be a part of his After Hours Til Dawn Tour.
Therefore, the scheduling clash prevented the Football Association from staging Arsenal against Manchester City at the traditional home of the Community Shield.
The fixture will instead return to Cardiff, with kick-off scheduled for 3 pm BST on August 16.
The Principality Stadium previously staged five consecutive Community Shield fixtures when its name was the Millennium Stadium.
Those games took place between 2001 and 2006 while Wembley underwent redevelopment, with Arsenal winning two of those editions.
