Manchester United eye move for £40M Crystal Palace star

United have only gathered information about his situation and have not moved beyond the enquiry stage.

Manchester United continue to explore the transfer market as they look to strengthen Michael Carrick’s squad ahead of the new season.

The Red Devils have already completed several additions this summer, but work behind the scenes is far from over.

Club officials are continuing to assess different attacking options before deciding who to pursue next.

One Premier League forward has now emerged on Manchester United’s radar after enjoying an outstanding campaign for both club and country.

According to Foot Mercato, Manchester United have made enquiries about Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr.

However, the Senegal international is not currently viewed as one of the club’s priority attacking targets.

Instead, United’s recruitment team are monitoring several different profiles before deciding whether to accelerate their interest.

Sarr’s performances over the past year have attracted attention from across Europe.

The 28-year-old played a key role in Crystal Palace’s UEFA Conference League triumph. He finished as the competition’s top scorer with nine goals.

He also received the Player of the Tournament award after producing a series of impressive displays. Furthermore, Sarr carried that form into the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Senegal.

He scored four goals during the tournament and continued to enhance his growing reputation despite Senegal’s elimination in the Round of 32.

United’s interest could also appeal to the player himself. Sarr has previously described Manchester United as his dream club. So, making a move to Old Trafford will be an attractive possibility if negotiations progress.

For now, though, United have only gathered information about his situation and have not moved beyond the enquiry stage.
