Manchester United have set their sights on the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery.
The Red Devils remain interested in adding another midfielder as they continue reshaping their squad ahead of the new season.
Zaire-Emery emerged as an ambitious option after intermediaries explored potential Premier League interest in the France international.
Manchester United were among several English clubs to indicate that they would be interested if the midfielder became available.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City also expressed interest after being sounded out over a possible move. However, PSG have now made their position clear.
According to TEAMtalk, the French champions have informed all interested parties that Zaire-Emery is not available for transfer this summer.
The 20-year-old remains an important part of Luis Enrique’s long-term plans despite seeing his starting opportunities fluctuate last season.
Moreover, PSG view their academy graduate as a central figure for the future rather than a player they are prepared to sell.
Zaire-Emery made 54 appearances across all competitions during the 2025–26 campaign, showing his versatility in midfield and at right-back.
He also represented France at the 2026 World Cup, although he played only 110 minutes across two appearances. Meanwhile, Manchester United’s admiration for the midfielder remains strong.
However, any potential move now appears extremely difficult. Also Zaire-Emery has no intention of pushing for an exit from Paris.
The midfielder remains happy at PSG and has not expressed any desire to leave during the summer transfer window.
Furthermore, his current contract runs until 2029, while PSG also hold an option to extend it for another year.
So, Manchester United may need to turn their attention elsewhere unless PSG dramatically change their stance before the window closes.
