Reason why Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal deal not completed revealed

Arsenal’s interest has remained unchanged despite those reports.

Bruno Guimaraes remains Arsenal’s priority midfield target this summer, but completing a deal with Newcastle United has proved far from straightforward.

The two clubs remain apart in their valuation, leaving negotiations at a standstill despite growing speculation. The proposed transfer has also created confusion over recent weeks.

While some reports claimed Arsenal had already seen bids rejected, others insisted Newcastle had received no official offer or direct approach.

That conflicting information has left supporters questioning the true position of the deal. Arsenal’s interest has remained unchanged despite those reports.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have continued to stand firm after already losing Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali during the summer. They are also unwilling to entertain offers below their valuation.

According to HandofArsenal, Arsenal submitted a proposal below £60 million after David Ornstein exclusively reported on June 26 that an offer had been sent.

The report also states Guimaraes told Eddie Howe in early July that he wanted to leave for sporting reasons. Arsenal also saw a £70M proposal rejected in recent days.

HandofArsenal claims the confusion stems from how discussions have taken place. During Arsenal’s pursuit of Sandro Tonali, the club became aware of Guimaraes’ desire and availability.

That led Kia Joorabchian to begin discussions with someone highly ranked within Newcastle, with verbal offers reportedly taking place through those conversations rather than through official club channels.

Newcastle journalists kept reporting no official offer or direct contact because Arsenal had not contacted the club directly.

HandofArsenal believes an official bid will only follow if Kia reaches a breakthrough over the transfer fee.

The report adds that serious negotiations are expected to begin once the valuation reaches around £80 million to £85 million.

Bruno Guimaraes is due to report back to Newcastle on Friday, while Kia continues talks in what HandofArsenal describes as an important few days for Arsenal’s pursuit.
