Marcus Rashford revived his career during last season’s loan spell at Barcelona. The England international scored 14 goals and registered 14 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.
His performances helped Barcelona win La Liga and also earned him a place in England’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. However, his future quickly became uncertain.
Barcelona decided against activating their option to sign Rashford permanently. That decision forced the forward to return to Manchester United ahead of the new campaign.
His next move remains unclear. Manchester United are still ready to listen to offers as they look to reduce their wage bill before the transfer window closes.
Rashford has also rejected approaches from Turkey and is due to report back for pre-season in the coming days. The forward is also preparing for talks with Michael Carrick.
Those discussions could determine whether Rashford remains part of United’s plans or leaves Old Trafford before the deadline.
Interest in the England international continues to grow as clubs monitor the situation. Now, one Premier League club has emerged as the leading contender.
According to The Sun, bookmakers William Hill have installed Chelsea as the favourites to sign Marcus Rashford this summer.
The Blues have attracted strong backing as Xabi Alonso looks to add more experience to his squad.
Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson have also been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea lead the market at 9/2.
Real Madrid and Aston Villa are joint-second favourites at 11/2, while Tottenham Hotspur sit at 7/1.
Arsenal have also been linked with Rashford, although the Gunners are currently pursuing Vinicius Junior.
Rashford has not played for Manchester United since December 2024 despite graduating from the club’s academy and scoring 138 goals in 426 senior appearances.
For now, he will return for pre-season, but his long-term future remains unresolved as the summer window continues.
