Manchester United and Chelsea continue searching for attacking reinforcements before the transfer window closes.
Michael Carrick wants more firepower after guiding Manchester United back into the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso is reshaping Chelsea’s squad following a disappointing campaign that ended without European qualification. Both clubs have now identified the same target.
The Premier League rivals want another striker capable of adding goals and long-term quality. Their attention has turned towards one of Belgium’s standout performers from last season.
The striker enjoyed a remarkable breakthrough campaign. Nicolo Tresoldi fired Club Brugge to the Belgian league title.
The Gemran scored 23 goals and provided nine assists in 58 appearances across all competitions. He also impressed in the Champions League with goals against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Manchester United and Chelsea are both monitoring Tresoldi.
The report claims interest from the two Premier League clubs has made the Germany Under-21 international reconsider his future at Club Brugge. AS Roma have already tested Brugge’s resolve.
The Italian club submitted a €35M offer for Tresoldi, but Club Brugge rejected the proposal because they do not want to lose their leading striker this summer.
However, the transfer race could become even more competitive. Manchester United and Chelsea both want to strengthen their attacking options, while Roma could still return with another offer if negotiations reopen.
Club Brugge remain in a strong position. The Belgian champions have no immediate need to sell, and previous reports suggest they could demand around €50M before considering a deal.
Even so, growing interest from England has placed Tresoldi’s future firmly under the spotlight as two Premier League giants prepare for a potential transfer battle.
