Bayern Munich set sights on Manchester United star to replace Harry Kane

Bayern believe Kane could eventually operate in a deeper role as he gets older

Bayern Munich have already completed their summer recruitment, but the club are continuing to plan for the future.

The Bundesliga champions strengthened their squad with the arrivals of Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown.

While no further signings are expected this window, Bayern’s recruitment team are already assessing long-term options in several positions. One area under consideration is attack.

Harry Kane remains Bayern’s undisputed first-choice striker and the club are preparing to open talks over a new contract.

However, the German giants are also thinking about life beyond the England captain.

According to Christian Falk, Bayern Munich still have Benjamin Sesko on their shortlist as a potential long-term successor to Kane.

Falk reports that Bayern previously explored a move for the Slovenian before Manchester United signed him from RB Leipzig.

The club continue to admire the 23-year-old despite his move to Old Trafford last summer. The plan extends beyond replacing Kane.

Bayern believe Kane could eventually operate in a deeper role as he gets older, creating room for a natural centre-forward to play alongside him in a two-striker system.

However, there is no immediate move planned. The arrival of Ismael Saibari has given Vincent Kompany another attacking option.

This is also allowing Bayern to assess their current squad before deciding whether another striker will be needed in the future. Sesko remains highly regarded in Munich.

The Manchester United forward enjoyed an encouraging first season in England and continues to attract interest from several top clubs.

Even so, Bayern are expected to monitor his progress rather than make an approach this summer.

For now, the Bundesliga champions remain focused on extending Kane’s contract while keeping Sesko firmly on their radar for the years ahead.
