Manchester United out of race for Premier League star

United are also unwilling to match every financial demand this summer.

Manchester United have remained active during the summer transfer window after reshaping their squad under Michael Carrick.

The Red Devils have strengthened several positions but continue searching for more quality before the market closes.

One priority is adding another option on the left wing. Carrick wants greater competition in that area as United prepare for their Champions League return.

The club have monitored one Premier League attacker for more than a year. However, completing a deal has become increasingly difficult because of growing competition and Everton’s valuation.

United are also unwilling to match every financial demand this summer. That approach has now left them facing a significant setback in their pursuit of another attacking addition.

According to Football Insider, Manchester United are now all but out of the race to sign Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye, with Al-Hilal leading the race for his signature.

The report states that Everton value Ndiaye at around £75 million. Al-Hilal are prepared to pay more and also offer a bigger salary package than Manchester United.

Although Ndiaye has rejected several contract offers from Everton this year, his next move could depend on his personal ambitions.

His father has revealed that the Senegal international currently wants to remain in Europe. Football Insider reports that Al-Hilal are preparing an official offer for the 26-year-old.

That move has placed the Saudi club in a strong position ahead of Manchester United. The report also suggests United are reluctant to pay Everton’s asking price.

Matching Al-Hilal’s wage proposal is another major obstacle in the negotiations. Carrick still wants another left winger before the transfer window closes.

However, Manchester United may now have to look elsewhere after falling behind in the race for Ndiaye. The Red Devils are also searching for another left-back this summer.

Nottingham Forest’s Neco Williams and Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall remain firmly on United’s shortlist following their impressive performances last season.
