Tottenham Hotspur remain active in the transfer market as Roberto De Zerbi continues reshaping his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
Spurs have already invested heavily this summer after narrowly avoiding relegation last season.
Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke headline a recruitment drive that has also strengthened the defence with the arrivals of Andrew Robertson and Marcos Senesi.
Despite those additions, Tottenham are still searching for more firepower in attack.
De Zerbi wants greater competition up front, and the club have continued to assess several high-profile forwards before the transfer window closes. That search has now led them to Old Trafford.
According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham Hotspur made an enquiry through intermediaries for Benjamin Sesko, but Manchester United immediately ruled out any possibility of a transfer.
Bayern Munich and Barcelona also explored the striker’s availability. However, Manchester United gave every interested club the same response and insisted the Slovenia international is not for sale.
United’s stance reflects Sesko’s growing importance under Michael Carrick. The 23-year-old finished last season in outstanding form, scoring seven goals in his final 13 appearances.
Jason Wilcox and the club’s football department view Sesko as one of the foundations of Carrick’s long-term project.
Although Manchester United still want to sign another forward this summer, they are looking to strengthen the squad around Sesko rather than replace him.
The club continue to assess options while uncertainty remains over Joshua Zirkzee’s future. The player’s position also strengthens United’s resolve.
Sesko has no desire to leave Old Trafford. The Slovenian believes he has found the ideal environment to continue his development under Carrick.
With both club and player aligned, Tottenham’s enquiry has gone no further. Manchester United remain determined to keep Sesko, making any move this summer highly unlikely.
