Arsenal have already started looking beyond the summer transfer window as Mikel Arteta continues strengthening his title-winning squad.
The Gunners ended their 22-year wait for a Premier League crown last season. They have responded to that success by investing heavily during the current transfer window.
Bruno Guimaraes arrived from Newcastle United for £75 million to strengthen Arteta’s midfield options.
Christos Tzolis also joined from Club Brugge for £34 million following Leandro Trossard’s departure to Besiktas.
Arsenal added further depth by completing deals for Piero Hincapie, Illan Meslier and Ezri Konsa.
However, Arteta still wants additional attacking options as Arsenal prepare to defend their Premier League title.
The club explored several possibilities during the summer, but some potential deals proved difficult to complete.
According to The Sun, Arsenal have identified Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi as an early target for the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old had already emerged on Arsenal’s radar before an injury disrupted his preseason preparations.
That setback prevented Arsenal from making a summer approach, but their interest in the French forward remains active.
The Gunners could therefore return when the transfer market reopens in January. Arteta wants greater depth on the left side of his attack despite already adding Tzolis this summer.
Kroupi has attracted attention after establishing himself as one of Bournemouth’s most exciting attacking players.
Arsenal will continue monitoring his recovery and performances before deciding whether to make a formal winter offer.
The club have also explored other attacking targets during the current window. Their pursuit of Vinicius Junior ended after the Brazilian signed a new contract with Real Madrid.
Arsenal have also encountered difficulties in their efforts to sign Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez.
Juventus attacker Kenan Yildiz has emerged as another option, although the Italian club value him above £60 million.
For now, Kroupi appears firmly on Arsenal’s radar as they begin planning their next phase of recruitment.
Arteta’s side will start their Premier League title defence against Coventry City at the Emirates Stadium.
