Arsenal have entered the 2026/27 campaign as reigning Premier League champions following their title success last season.
Mikel Arteta’s side began with a 3-0 Community Shield victory over Manchester City. They then defeated newly promoted Coventry City 3-0 in their Premier League opener.
The Gunners also made several changes during the summer transfer window under sporting director Andrea Berta. Bruno Guimaraes arrived from Newcastle United, while Ezri Konsa joined from Aston Villa.
Arsenal also signed Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge and goalkeeper Illan Meslier on a free transfer. Piero Hincapie’s stay was made permanent after his previous loan spell.
However, the attacking department underwent significant changes before the window closed. Gabriel Martinelli completed a club-record move to Al-Hilal as Arsenal generated £122 million through departures.
Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard and Fabio Vieira also left the club. Arsenal had additionally pursued attacking targets including Vinicius Junior and Julian Alvarez during the window.
The Gunners are now keeping track of another forward who has also attracted attention from several major European clubs.
According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal are monitoring AIK striker Kevin Filling, with Chelsea and Liverpool also keeping close tabs on the 17-year-old.
Juventus are monitoring Filling as well, with scouts from all four clubs recently attending AIK matches in Stockholm to watch him.
Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly view the youngster as a potential development signing rather than an immediate first-team solution.
Filling can operate as a centre-forward or from the left side of the attack. He has registered two goals and five assists across 17 Allsvenskan appearances in 2026.
The teenager remains under contract with AIK until June 2028, leaving the Swedish club under no immediate pressure to sell.
CaughtOffside reports that a future transfer package could reach between €20 million and €25 million. Such a deal could include bonuses, a sell-on clause and a potential loan back to AIK.
Arsenal are therefore monitoring Filling’s development as they assess future attacking options alongside Chelsea and Liverpool.
