Liverpool are already considering further additions after making major changes to Andoni Iraola’s squad during the summer.
The Reds invested heavily following Mohamed Salah’s departure. Bradley Barcola arrived from Paris Saint-Germain, while Victor Munoz added another option out wide.
Liverpool also strengthened defensively with Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo as Iraola reshaped the squad around his tactical approach.
Their attention could now turn towards midfield in a future transfer window. According to Ekrem Konur, Liverpool remain interested in Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara.
The Senegal international was heavily linked with Chelsea during the summer. However, his proposed move to Stamford Bridge collapsed on deadline day.
The Turkish journalist has now indicated that Liverpool are planning to strengthen their midfield, with Camara still among their targets.
The 22-year-old was valued at approximately €55M (£46M) during the summer. Liverpool have monitored his situation since Chelsea’s unsuccessful attempt to complete a deal.
Their interest appears to have progressed beyond basic scouting. Liverpool have already held talks regarding a potential move for Camara. Chelsea, meanwhile, could be moving in a different direction.
The Blues are reportedly no longer pursuing Camara because they do not want to negotiate with Monaco again.
Chelsea are instead exploring alternative midfield targets, potentially clearing the path for Liverpool to intensify their pursuit.
Camara has attracted attention through his performances for Monaco in Ligue 1 and Senegal on the international stage. His displays at the recent World Cup also strengthened his reputation.
Liverpool have enjoyed an unbeaten opening to the 2026/27 campaign under Iraola. However, the club continue assessing opportunities to improve their squad after a transformative summer window.
Camara remains firmly under consideration as part of those plans.
With Chelsea cooling their interest and Liverpool already holding talks, the Reds could now have a clearer opportunity to pursue the £46M-rated midfielder in one of the upcoming transfer windows.
