Manchester United are set for a mass exodus this summer

In manager Ruben Amorim’s first summer transfer window after being appointed in November 2024, there have been many players linked to exits.

This comes after years and years of shortcomings in the Premier League.

Whilst they may won a League Cup and made back-to-back FA Cup finals in 2023 and 2024, winning one and losing one, their league form has been far from impressive.

This was evident in their 15th place finish in the 2024/25 season.

They were fortunate that Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town’s struggles stopped them being in any true relegation battle.

After all, West Ham United were relegated in the 2002/23 season with more points (44).

This is more than what the current version of their club (43), United (42), Wolverhampton Wanderers (42), Tottenham Hotspur (38) all gathered in 2024/25.

It was recently revealed that five of United’s squad have expressed a desire to leave the club.

Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrrell Malacia were the five in question.

Whilst Rashford has recently secured a loan move to FC Barcelona, the other four players’ futures are still up in the air.

One of these four have recently come out and spoken of a desire to play with ex-United forward Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.

According to Goal.com, United forward Antony is open to a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.

After a successful loan spell at La Liga side Real Betis, Antony has plenty of suitors as he aims to end his Old Trafford nightmare.

The Brazil international signed from Ajax for a fee of €95 million in 2022.

At the time of the signing, only Paul Pogba’s move to United, Romelu Lukaku’s second transfer to Chelsea and Jack Grealish’s arrival at Manchester City had cost a Premier League side more.

In 96 total appearances across all competitions, Antony has just 12 goals and five assists.

With more yellow cards (14) at the club than goals, it is safe to say he has been a very unsuccessful transfer.

The move to Betis has reinvigorated the belief that there is a player in there, and Antony would relish the chance at a fresh start.
